Our mission

With the CIO Transformation Board, IT-Branchen brings together the most visionary CIOs from companies where digitalisation is a strategic part of the business—but where the ambition goes beyond merely digitalising operations.

Our goal is not only to highlight Denmark’s most accomplished CIOs and facilitate the sharing of experiences and best practices across industries. We also aim to shape the public agenda by engaging with the media and policymakers on the digital future of Denmark and its business sector.

The CIO Transformation Board is for CIOs who have the ability and desire to lead not only their own company but also Denmark into the 21st century.


Climate goals, ESG reporting, circular economy, CO2 emissions, Science Based Targets, green IT, and scope 1, 2, and 3. The terms are many, but often unknown to many. Nevertheless, sustainability is something that CIOs and IT companies must take seriously.

6 out of 10 believe it will become harder to drive growth and attract capital and investments if they don’t proactively work with sustainability.
Already today, 35% of companies have experienced demands for sustainability documentation from one or more customers.

At the CIO Transformation Board, cloud, AI, and the strategic use of data were discussed alongside a number of selected experts. These are topics that will significantly transform the business foundations on which companies have traditionally been built.
Changes in cloud, AI, and data that could make most CIOs break into a cold sweat.

For this reason, the fire was lit, and a number of experts were invited to focus on some of the technologies and legal frameworks that will particularly impact companies and, consequently, the CIO’s future strategic decisions.

With 58% of Danish companies having experienced security incidents, and the average cyberattack costing 1 million DKK, cyber threats result in annual losses of billions of kroner. The wider societal impact, including reduced employment and tax revenue, adds to these costs.

While the public sector has focused its cybersecurity efforts on critical infrastructure and, to some extent, SMEs, the rest of Danish industry remains underserved. This was one of the key conclusions from a recent CIO Transformation Board meeting on IT security.

At the board’s first meeting, members discussed 21st-century skills, as all experienced an increased demand for new digital competencies in business, but also a significant challenge in finding the right people. This discussion led to a number of concrete recommendations, which are now being sent to the government’s partnership for the Digital Denmark of the Future.

The recommendations discussed were:
– An upgrade of the existing labor market
– Better alignment between supply and demand
– Future-proofing new generations
