Between ambition and compliance

The one-day conference provides a unique opportunity to learn how standard-setting carriers, operators, engine makers, bunker companies and customers contribute to the decarbonization of shipping – through new technologies, new fuels and new strategies.

Efforts to curb emissions have taken an important leap forward with the entry into force of IMO’s Carbon Intensity Indicator, the CII regulation and EU’s ETS system, requiring the industry to purchase allowances to cover its CO2-emissions.

With the results backed from the crucial MEPC meeting, April 7 to 11 2025, the shipping industry will gain the certainty of the long-term GHG reduction goal it has requested for years. As a best case scenario.

However, carriers from all nations flying all flags also have to comply with yet another piece of GHG regulation adding to the rules already imposed: CII, ETS and EUFuel Maritime.

With the participation of some of the largest and most influential companies of the entire maritime industry, Decarbonizing Shipping 2025, takes stock of a sector operating under a vast number of climate rules. A burden to some, a commercial advantage to others, a challenge to all.

The first conference was held in September 2021.

Wednesday the 7th of May, from 08.30 AM to 16.00 PM
