Fra sygeplejerske til partnerskabschef
Mia har aldrig været bange for at tage springet ud i noget nyt. Hendes vej til IT startede ikke med en teknisk uddannelse, men med en baggrund som sygeplejerske. Efter flere år i sundhedssektoren, hvor hun arbejdede som produktspecialist inden for medicotekniske produkter, begyndte hun at overveje nye muligheder. Da hun så en stilling som Solution Manager hos KMD, tænkte hun med en Pippi-energi: “Det kan jeg vel godt.”
Det var ikke teknikken, der trak hende ind i IT-verdenen, men snarere muligheden for at bruge sin erfaring fra sundhedsvæsenet til at forbedre de systemer, som hendes tidligere kolleger arbejdede med. “Jeg tænkte, at jeg nok kunne bidrage med et andet perspektiv,” siger Mia. Heldigvis blev hun mødt af en leder, der så hendes potentiale frem for hendes manglende tekniske erfaring.
En stejl læringskurve og værdien af faglighed
Overgangen til IT var ikke uden udfordringer. Der var en stejl læringskurve med nye begreber, tekniske termer og en helt anden arbejdsmetode. “Jeg var helt blank på nogle af de ord, der blev brugt. Heldigvis havde jeg en kollega, der også var sygeplejerske, men havde arbejdet med IT i 20 år. Hun forstod den rejse, jeg var på, og hjalp mig igennem de første svære måneder.”
Mia har siden haft forskellige roller – både med fokus på at definere løsninger og på salg. Hendes sundhedsfaglige baggrund har været en stor styrke i alle funktionerne. Hun forstår, hvordan medarbejdere i sundhedssektoren tænker, og hvad de har brug for i deres systemer. “Jeg tror ikke, man nødvendigvis behøver en lang teknisk uddannelse for at kunne gøre sig gældende i IT-verdenen. Det vigtigste er at kunne forstå brugernes behov og bygge bro mellem teknologi og praksis.”
Partnerskaber, der skaber sammenhæng
I dag arbejder Mia som Partnerskabschef hos Trifork Digital Health. Hendes rolle handler om at skabe sammenhæng i sundhedsvæsenets digitale løsninger. “Den løsning, vi laver som leverandør, er aldrig den eneste. Ved at arbejde sammen med andre virksomheder, som har løsninger i samme kontekst, kan vi forbedre den samlede brugeroplevelse.”
Hun får ofte indsigt i, hvor løsninger ikke slår til, og netop den viden bruger hun til at finde partnere, der kan komplementere Triforks løsninger. “Det handler om at skabe de bedste løsninger for slutbrugeren – ikke bare sælge IT for IT’s skyld.”
At gøre en forskel
Mia har altid haft en bred interesse og har drømt om alt fra at blive jagerpilot til psykolog. At hun endte i sundhedssektoren og senere i IT, har givet hende et stærkt fundament, hvor hun kan kombinere sin faglighed med sin nysgerrighed.
Særligt et projekt ligger hende nært: arbejdet med datadeling for unge i mistrivsel. “Jeg har selv stået som forælder til en ung i mistrivsel og oplevet, hvor svært det kan være at navigere i systemet – selv når man har ressourcerne. At kunne bidrage med min viden til at forbedre de digitale løsninger på dette område betyder meget for mig.”
En opfordring til andre
Mia er et levende bevis på, at vejen til IT ikke behøver at være snorlige. Hun håber, at flere – især kvinder – tør tage springet, selv hvis de ikke opfylder alle kravene i et jobopslag. “Jeg tror, man skal turde tænke, at hvis man kan noget af det, kan man også lære resten. Det handler om at have det rette fundament og være åben for at lære.”
Hendes rejse viser, at IT-verdenen har brug for mange forskellige kompetencer – og at erfaring fra andre brancher kan være en stor styrke.

From Nurse to Partnership Manager
Mia has never been afraid to take a leap into something new. Her path into IT didn’t start with a technical education but with a background as a nurse. After several years in the healthcare sector, working as a product specialist in medical technology, she began considering new opportunities. When she saw a job posting for a Solution Manager at KMD, she thought with a touch of Pippi energy: “I guess I can do that.”
It wasn’t the technology itself that drew her into the IT world, but rather the opportunity to use her experience from healthcare to improve the systems her former colleagues relied on. “I figured I could contribute with a different perspective,” says Mia. Fortunately, she was met by a manager who saw her potential rather than focusing on her lack of technical experience.
A Steep Learning Curve and the Value of Expertise
The transition to IT wasn’t without challenges. There was a steep learning curve with new concepts, technical terms, and an entirely different way of working. “I had no clue about some of the terms being used. Luckily, I had a colleague who was also a nurse but had worked in IT for 20 years. She understood the journey I was on and helped me through the first tough months.”
Since then, Mia has held various roles, where she both focused on defining solutions and on sales. Her background in healthcare has been a great asset in all these positions. She understands how healthcare professionals think and what they need from their systems. “I don’t think you necessarily need a long technical education to make an impact in the IT world. The most important thing is understanding the users’ needs and bridging the gap between technology and practice.”
Partnerships That Create Synergy
Today, Mia works as a Partnership Manager at Trifork Digital Health. Her role revolves around creating coherence in digital healthcare solutions. “The solution we provide as a supplier is never the only one. By collaborating with other companies that offer solutions in the same context, we can improve the overall user experience.”
She often gains insights into where solutions fall short, and she uses this knowledge to find partners who can complement Trifork’s offerings. “It’s about creating the best solutions for the end-user – not just selling IT for IT’s sake.”
Making a Difference
Mia has always had a wide range of interests and once dreamed of becoming everything from a fighter pilot to a psychologist. Ending up in healthcare and later transitioning to IT has given her a strong foundation where she can combine her expertise with her curiosity.
One project, in particular, is close to her heart: working on data-sharing solutions for young people struggling with mental health issues. “I’ve personally been in a situation as a parent where my child was struggling, and even with my resources, I found it incredibly difficult to navigate the system. Being able to use my knowledge to improve digital solutions in this area means a lot to me.”
A Call to Others
Mia is living proof that the path into IT doesn’t have to be a straight one. She hopes that more people, especially women, dare to take the leap, even if they don’t meet all the requirements in a job posting. “I think we need to shift our mindset to: If I know some of it, I can learn the rest. It’s about having the right foundation and being open to learning.”
Her journey demonstrates that the IT world needs a variety of skills and that experience from other industries can be a great strength.
