Camilla’s work, story and motivation in Novo Nordisk
In the complex IT landscape of Novo Nordisk, Camilla is proud to be leading a Software Engineering Platform team, which supports the company’s cloud-based infrastructure. Here, the developers work on automating standard processes and delivering on services such as observability, UX / UI design systems, cloud management and Novo Nordisk’s development portal. Camilla says that “as leader of a highly technical team, I use my IT knowledge and leadership skills on a daily basis. I feel energised by helping my team thrive and develop, especially when I can see our work being celebrated both in the company and outside.”
A scientific start
Camilla’s curious nature has been there ever since her childhood, when she was playing with her dad’s PH-paper and microscope – this developed into a love for STEM and a degree in Chemical Engineering. How did IT come into the scene? “I believe the first time I truly realized its potential was during a course where, after days of manual calculations, we managed to complete all the work on a computer on the final day. That moment opened up a world of IT possibilities for me”.
The right time to be in the IT industry
What Camilla finds most fascinating about working in IT are the endless opportunities and growth perspective she sees in this industry. Especially now, when we’re finding ourselves challenging our ways of working and looking for new ways to stay relevant. On top of this, she’s also grateful to work in an environment that attracts “people with many different backgrounds, both professionally and culturally – we’re also seeing more women come in, and they all bring in a high degree of knowledge and professionalism”. Camilla’s work history took her from start-ups to Big Tech, in local and global positions, and she concludes that “few other industries have as many opportunities as IT does”.
