Min vej til it: Christoffer Monberg, NetCloud

IT gave me a way to combine my interests into one career

Christoffer, Senior Customer Success Manager, NetCloud

What made you choose an IT education?

When I was first looking at what to study, I was honestly pretty unsure which direction to go in.

I’ve always had a lot of different interests—everything from economics and technology to physics, chemistry, and math. So choosing just one path felt limiting.

Then I came across a program at DTU—Engineering in Export & Technology—which allowed me to combine several of those interests, including IT. That mix really appealed to me, so I went for it.

What do you work with today, and why does it feel meaningful to you?

After graduating, I started out as an IT consultant, working on implementing IT solutions for large global organizations.

From there, I moved into a technical project manager role, and later into my current position as a Senior Customer Success Manager.

Today, I still work very close to the technology. I use my technical background and experience to advise customers, build implementation roadmaps, and help them figure out how to use technology in a way that actually supports their business goals.

What makes the job interesting to me is that I get to operate from a more strategic, big-picture perspective—while still understanding the technical details underneath. Being able to connect those layers and see how everything fits together is something I really enjoy.

What would you say to someone considering an IT education but feeling unsure?

IT is a very broad field, even though it might not sound like it at first.

You can work with software development, implementation, hardware, infrastructure, networks—or take a more strategic angle and focus on how technology supports business goals. And it’s actually quite easy to shift direction over time, depending on what you find interesting.

In my own case, I’ve worked with database tasks and system integrations, implemented workflows and processes, built project plans for large technical implementations, worked as a SCRUM master on one of Denmark’s largest public IT projects, advised the national police on security and compliance strategy, managed large customer portfolios, and helped develop new IT products from scratch—all within less than 10 years.

So whether you enjoy deep technical work, configuring systems, working with customers, or thinking more strategically—IT gives you the flexibility to explore all of it.
